The remarkable scent of the resin (slightly sweet with a hint of coconut) develops as the wood, split in hand-cut sticks, burns up.
Application: Light one end of the Palo Santo stick and let it burn until the wood starts to glow red. Then wave it out and walk around the room or apartment with the smoking Palo Santo. The piece of wood can then be placed in a fireproof bowl to burn out.
